Delightful comedy and virtuosic choreography abound in Frederick Ashton’s sunny and beloved production of La Fille Mal Gardée from the Royal Ballet. The simple story of Lise, her suitor Colas, and Lise’s larger-than-life mother who tries to marry her off to the simpleton son of a rich neighbor is both funny and touching, and filled with glorious detailed movement. La Fille Mal Gardée is perfect for ballet newcomers and irresistible to audiences of all ages. Starring Steven McRae and Roberta Marquez.
